Why we created local

There are few things in life more important than creating lasting memories with the people who matter most. As much of the short term rental industry has become dominated by large corporations and private equity, we believe there is still a place for a company built on relationships, trust, and genuine hospitality. That’s why Rachel and I created LOCAL. To make exceptional STRs accessible, productive, and consistent. Accessible by creating opportunities for everyday people to enjoy thoughtfully designed homes. Productive by helping families and friends create memories that span generations. Consistent by delivering an experience you can trust every time you stay with us. We stayed here with a group of 15 and had plenty of space for everyone. While I wish the cabin had more of a rustic feel, it was overall a great place to stay especially if you have kids! The pool, hot tub & movie room will keep both the kids and adults entertained. The host was always super responsive whenever I had a question. I'd definitely recommend this place to large families or big groups!

The stay was wonderful the host was quick to respond and very helpful. We stayed with young children and enjoyed it. Our only complain is the listing was for 6 bedrooms and we felt this was misleading.. when we arrived it is actually a 5 bedroom home with bunk beds in a common area without doors or any privacy. We were with a group so one family ended up sleeping in the basement on pallets to have privacy. So be aware if you do need 6 bedrooms. Other than that the home and host was wonderful

Yes. We strive to offer our best available pricing on our direct booking website. Booking direct also allows you to communicate directly with our team.

When will I receive check-in instructions?
Check-in information is sent before your arrival, including your property’s address, access instructions, parking information, and everything you’ll need for a smooth arrival.

What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is at 4:00 PM. Check-out is at 10:00 AM.

Can I request early check-in or late check-out?
When our schedule allows, we’re happy to accommodate these requests. Contact us in advance and we’ll do our best.

Do I need to meet anyone to check in?
No. Our homes feature convenient self check-in, allowing you to arrive whenever it’s convenient after check-in time.

Who do I contact if I need help?
Our local hosting team is available throughout your stay. If something isn’t right, let us know immediately so we can make it right.

Are your homes professionally cleaned?
Yes. Every property is professionally cleaned and inspected before each arrival.

Are pets allowed?
This varies by property. Pet-friendly homes are clearly identified in each listing. With that said, mostly yes. We love hosting your furry friends.

What is your cancellation policy?
100% refund within 24 hours of booking. 100% refund until 30 days before check-in. 50% refund until 14 before check-in. 0% refund within 14 days.

Are parties or events allowed?
Unless specifically approved, parties and unauthorized events are prohibited to protect both our guests and neighboring properties.

Is smoking permitted?
No. Smoking is prohibited inside all properties.
